Use Cases

With Smart Accounts available on the L2, users can get a better UX for actions that currently feel clunky in crypto - especially around bridging funds into DB-chains, where smart account patterns can reduce friction (fewer confusing steps, more flexible signing/approval flows), and can later extend into multi-currency support for DB-chain gas payments so users aren’t forced into a single token experience.

Impact

This work removes a major adoption blocker: UX around accounts and bridging is often where new users drop off. Account Abstraction + Smart Accounts improves onboarding and repeat usage by making “getting funds where they need to be” simpler and safer, and it sets up the next step (multi-currency gas) which is a meaningful unlock for mainstream UX and long-term ecosystem growth.

Team & Background

Team Track Record

theVelopers is an engineering collective with multi-year team cohesion, delivering protocol-level infrastructure for blockchain foundations including Aleph Zero, Golem, ICP, and Starknet. Engineers who have operated systems under real financial, security, and uptime constraints. Research-grade depth applied to production systems. Co-founded by Iwo Piętak (CEO) and Bartłomiej Ryba (CTO).

Ecosystem Fund’s Mission

Milestones

Milestone 1: Discovery and system review

Run a structured technical review to clarify scope, constraints, and success criteria, then translate that into an execution plan that can be delivered in milestones rather than open-ended work.

Milestone 2: Architecture and implementation plan

Define the target architecture (components, interfaces, security assumptions, and operational requirements) and prepare a build plan that prioritizes the highest-risk pieces first so delivery stays predictable.

Milestone 3: MVP build and integration

Deliver the first usable version of the system (or a defined subsystem) with clean integration points, so the ecosystem team can test real flows early and iterate based on actual usage rather than guesswork.

Milestone 4: Handover and long-term maintainability

Finalize documentation, ensure maintainers can operate and extend the system, and close the engagement with clear ownership and future improvement items.
